accelerometer: a sensor that measures proper acceleration, typically the acceleration experienced relative to free fall. It detects changes in velocity along one or more axes, often used in various devices to detect movement, orientation, vibration, and tilt.

captive touch:

**processor (**also known as central processing unit (CPU)): the electronic circuitry within a computer that executes instructions to perform tasks such as calculations, data processing, and control of other hardware components. serial communication: A way of sending and receiving between devices in one-bit segments. Serial communication transmits data between the micro:bit and a computer using a USB cable.
